You are purchasing the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery purposes. Before buying, confirm a replacement PCB is the correct fix by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive PCBs contain unique configuration data stored in the ROM “memory” chip; that ROM information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service: we will either transplant the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
