Safavieh Stone Wash Area Rugs Collection sku-47219705
No rating yet(0 ratings)Safavieh Stone Wash Collection Rugs, sku-47219705, are simple, versatile indoor area rugs available in multiple sizes. A rug pad is recommended to reduce shifting and sliding. For indoor rugs, vacuum thoroughly and often with a quality canister vacuum, preferably without beater bars. Vacuum high-traffic areas more frequently, but avoid vacuuming fringes, particularly on hand-knotted rugs. Regular vacuuming keeps soil from settling deep in the rug and causing permanent damage. Blot liquid spills promptly with a clean cloth; rubbing can drive a stain deeper and make it more likely to reappear. For stains, mix water, white vinegar and mild detergent, apply only the foam, then absorb the residue with a clean cloth. Professional cleaning is recommended for stubborn stains. Viscose is a cellulose-derived, man-made fiber also called artificial silk or art silk. It has a soft, silk-like look and feel at a lower price than silk, blends with other fibers and takes dye well, including vivid colors. Rugs made entirely of viscose or with viscose highlights need special care. Use a carpet sweeper regularly on 100 percent viscose rugs. If you vacuum, use low power and disengage the beater bars or raise them. Viscose is highly absorbent, so treat stains with a clean, damp cloth and mild cleanser when needed. For tough stains, apply only the foam from a mixture of water, white vinegar and mild detergent, then remove residue with a clean, damp cloth. A small amount of fabric softener sprayed on the stained area can help preserve softness. New wool rugs naturally shed, though shedding gradually decreases. A quality rug pad reduces surface friction. For the first few weeks, vacuum a new wool rug 1-2 times a week at low pressure without beater bars, following the direction of the pile. Excessive shedding in a quality wool rug should diminish within 4 to 6 months or less. Clip loose ends and stray loops with scissors rather than pulling them, including loops in large-loop weaves. Shipping may leave temporary creases or kinks that gradually settle. Reverse-roll the rug to speed flattening, or give it time to lie flat. Place protectors under heavy furniture legs to prevent flattened pile. Direct sunlight can fade rug colors, so place the rug away from it where possible, preferably near the center of a room. Curtains, blinds, protective window treatments or window coatings can reduce UV exposure. Indoor-outdoor rugs use durable synthetic materials to withstand traffic, dirt, spills and outdoor conditions, but still need regular care despite their dirt and stain resistance. Check the label for material-specific instructions and precautions. Sweep and vacuum these rugs more frequently than indoor rugs. Blot spills quickly with a dry towel or paper towels without rubbing, then sponge the area with a little cold water. Periodically sweep, vacuum and rinse the whole rug with a garden hose, preferably over a rail for drainage. Dry it over a railing in sunlight, turning it so both sides dry. Crease-removal tips are also available in a video.
