Royal Purple liriope (Liriope muscari 'Royal Purple'), also known as lilyturf or blue lily turf. This evergreen perennial has dense clumps of narrow, arching, glossy, dark green leaves that can grow up to 1 inch wide. The leaves form a fountain-like habit. In late summer, the plant produces erect spikes of violet-purple flowers with dense whorls that rise above the leaves. The flowers bloom from August to September and can be 6 to 8 inches long. The flower spikes can be used as long-lasting cut flowers. Fruit.
