Thomas Schmidinger Rojava Hardcover Book sku-749608603

In this hardcover Middle Eastern History Books title, Thomas Schmidinger examines Rojava, the Kurdish territory in Syria. He argues that Western radicals sometimes project their own values onto the region and overlook its political complexities.

Drawing on seventeen years of work in Rojava and interviews with party leaders, civil society activists, artists, fighters, and religious leaders, he covers the history of Syria's Kurds and developments since the war began in 2011. These include the establishment of a Kurdish para-state and disputes between Kurdish parties over its administration. SKU: sku-749608603.
