Overview: The APM5C is a two-way active studio monitor pair finished in a classic wood-style cabinet and engineered for accurate, distortion-free playback. Power & amplification: Rated at 125 Watt RMS (250 Watt peak) with a quad amp design — each driver is driven by its own frequency-specific independent amplifier. Features full range Class “D” amplifier circuitry with an auto-switching power supply and an LED power-on indicator on the rear panel. Drivers & transducers: Ferro-fluid enhanced ¾” Neodymium silk-dome tweeter with metal grill protection (tweeter voice coil diameter ¾”). Injection-molded polypropylene cone woofer with rubber surround for reduced distortion. Specially wound voice coils provide accurate response across the entire frequency spectrum. Crossover & enclosure design: Computer-optimized electronic crossover network delivers balanced highs, mids, and lows. The curved front bezel minimizes standing wave distortion. The cabinet includes a rear-firing port shaped by sound engineers to reduce port turbulence and deliver clear, distortion-free top-end performance. Cabinet construction & finishes: High-grade MDF enclosure (not particle board) — cabinet walls are 0.5” thick with a full 1” front board for superior rigidity and acoustic performance. Available enclosure options: wood finish painted black, wood finish painted white, or wood finish with vinyl front board. Cabinets are finished with durable “baking paint” made for wood surfaces; the result is a matte finish with a subtle sheen designed to look elegant in any studio or room. Acoustic engineering notes: The enclosure air volume and port dimensions are optimized for the driver set to reproduce recordings faithfully. The magnet structure, cone design, and cabinet spacing were developed to reproduce sound exactly as recorded, providing very clean sound and distortion-free playback even at maximum listening levels.
