Overview: The Rockville APM5B is a two-way active studio monitor pair rated at 250W (125 Watt RMS) designed for accurate nearfield listening. Each driver is driven by a quad amp design with frequency-specific independent amplifiers for precise control and clarity. Cabinet & Finishes: Enclosures are built from true high-grade MDF (not particle board). The cabinet walls are 0.5 thick while the front board is a full 1 thickness to enhance acoustic performance. Available finishes include wood finish painted black, wood finish painted white, or wood finish with a vinyl front board. Cabinets are coated with baking paint formulated for wood surfaces, providing a durable matte finish with a slight sheen for a refined studio appearance. Drivers & Acoustic Design: Features a ferro fluid enhanced neodymium silk dome tweeter with metal grill protection. Tweeter has voice coil diameter. The curved front bezel is engineered to eliminate standing wave distortion. Woofer is an injection molded polypropylene cone with rubber surrounds to reduce unwanted distortion. The rear-firing port is shaped and tuned by sound engineers to minimize port turbulence and deliver clean, distortion-free output. Electronics & Performance: Full range Class D amplifier circuitry with an Auto-Switching Power Supply and an LED power on indicator on the rear panel.
