Regal Graze Ladino Clover Seed, 20 Lbs. — Large-Leaf with OverGraze Protection

Regal Graze Ladino Clover is a large-leaf white clover bred for heavy grazing tolerance and reliable persistence. It produces a taller canopy and larger leaves than Patriot and Durana clovers and includes bred-in OverGraze Protection so plants can recover quickly under intensive use via active stolon growth or self-seeding. In University of Georgia trials Regal Graze showed superior yield and greater grazing tolerance compared with other Ladino varieties. Unlike some intermediate and small-leaf white clovers, it contains no anti-quality cyanogenic glucosides. Plant characteristics: upright, tall growth habit with fine stems supporting large, dark green leaves, active stolons, and good winter hardiness. Regal Graze is persistent without being overly aggressive, helping it maintain the recommended 20-30% of pasture dry matter yield from ladino clover rather than crowding out perennial grasses. Agronomic benefits: maximizes daily gain for livestock and supplies nitrogen to companion grasses (fixes 75 to 150 pounds of nitrogen). Extends the grazing season by starting in spring and continuing well into fall or early winter. Helps dilute fungal alkaloids from endophyte-infected tall fescue, contributing to improved animal health and performance. When the cool-season grass component makes up 70-80% of dry matter yield, maximum animal performance is achieved; Regal Graze helps preserve that grass/legume balance better than small or intermediate leaf white clovers. Performance data: Forage and hay yields have been evaluated at the University of Georgia, the University of Kentucky and in Cal/Wests private tests. Animal intake and palatability comparisons were conducted at the University of Wisconsin, Lancaster Research Station. Grazing trials have been run at the University of Georgia and the University of Kentucky. Alabama studies reported an extra 44% gain by steers compared with tall fescue alone. Planting and use: Scientific name Trifolium repens. Best planted by broadcast in early spring or fall. Seed rate: 8-10 Lbs per Acre. Depth: 1/4 inch max. Prefers clay or loam soils. Life cycle: Perennial. Suitable for food plots (Deer, Turkey, Rabbit, Quail) and pasture forage. Management note: Include as little as 3 to 5 pounds of Regal Graze Ladino Clover in pasture renovation mixes or when over-seeding established pastures to capture the agronomic and economic benefits without allowing the clover to dominate the sward.
