Handmade in Poland, it uses 3mm (1/8") vegetable leather bark-tanned in the Podhale region using a 17th-century recipe. Its beechwood (Fagus sylvatica) handle uses 100% wood from an FSC-certified, well-managed forest in the Carpathian mountains.

The double-sided paddle has smooth and rough leather. Overall, it is 320mm (12.6") long and 60mm (2.36") wide; the working area is 206mm (8.11") by 56mm (2.17"). Apply polishing compound to either or both sides; the smooth side can also be left without compound. Most customers use white compound on the rough side and green on the smooth side.

After sharpening, pull the blade backward over the strop with low pressure, keeping the sharpening angle or a slightly shallower one. It can hone straight razors, chisels and hunting, pocket or kitchen knives. The kit includes a leather-conditioning balm with lanoline and beeswax and 4 polishing compounds, each 7g (1/4 oz): red at approximately 2000 grit, white at 5000, green at 8000 and black at 12000.
