Pennington Sahara II Penkoted Bermudagrass seed is a 10 Lbs Lawn Care product. Certified Sahara Bermudagrass is bred to grow greener and finer than common bermudagrasses. It tolerates drought and foot traffic and grows best in sunny, warm-season lawns. It has heat, drought, disease and insect resistance and produces dense, dark green, fine-bladed, self-repairing turf. The seed is 99.9% weed free; the grass resists scalping, has reduced plant height and is low in thatch. Planting zones: 2,3,5,8,9,10,11,12. For new turf, sow 0.75-2 lb per 1000 square feet in summer, at a depth of 1/16 inch. Suitable soil ranges from well drained to clay, with pH 5.5-8. Soil temperature should be at least 65F, with consistent daytime highs of 80 degrees F or more. Apply 0.5-0.9 lb of nitrogen per 1000 square feet. Germination takes 10-14 days. Keep the soil moist until the grass reaches 3 inches, then mow for the first time. Maintain at 1.5-3 inches; a 0.5 inches fairway height requires more management.
