Kill existing toxic tall fescue before planting. Drill into a firm prepared seedbed, use a no-till drill in sod, or broadcast on a prepared seedbed and pack the surface.

Sow 1/4 to 1/2 inch deep; deeper planting can reduce emergence. Use 20 lbs per acre in a prepared seedbed or 25 lbs per acre when sod-seeding into stubble. Plant in Southern and Southeastern states from September 1 to November 1; in Midwestern and Northeastern states, plant from August 15 to October 1 or in March and April. Wait until seedlings reach 6 to 8 inches before grazing or cutting.

Graze lightly on a rotational basis in the first year, and do not graze or cut closer than 2 inch.
