Tee 2 Green Penncross Seed, Restored Tools sku-140233585

Tee 2 Green Penncross creeping bentgrass seed, 25 Lbs, is listed under Restored Tools as sku-140233585, UPC 608887460551. Developed and released by Penn State University, Penncross is described as the most widely used creeping bentgrass in the golf industry. It forms dark green turf with vigorous, upright growth and suits closely mown putting greens.

It tolerates heat, cold and the low mowing heights used on golf greens, and adapts to a broad range of Western climates. It can recover from normal play, but heavy traffic or severe damage requires repair and recovery time. Shade tolerance is moderate; poor air circulation and saturated soil can weaken the turf. It grows best in moderately acidic soil that holds moisture and drains well.

Test soil and irrigation water for salinity before specifying it, since high salt levels can limit growth. Keep newly planted Penncross consistently moist, watering daily for the first 10-14 days without letting the sod dry out. Reduce watering frequency once roots begin to establish.

Ongoing care calls for a greens-type mower, fertilization, weed and disease control, and experienced turf management.
