Its head and neck tilt back, and its airway and esophagus can inflate to show lung or stomach expansion and help trainees check tube placement.

Correct placement triggers a lung light and beeps; esophageal placement triggers stomach swelling, an alarm and a light. Pressure on the teeth also triggers a light and alarm. The model includes a pupil comparison feature, a detachable tube and a carrying bag. Its smooth surface can be wiped with a rag, which is not included, and the model can be reused for training.
