Patco 502A/CLR636 Clear Tape is a polyethylene film tape with a permanent acrylic adhesive. The clear film conforms to irregular shapes, resists abrasion and chemicals, forms a moisture barrier, and allows repairs to remain less visible and easier to inspect.

It has high adhesion and cohesion, performs at high and low temperatures without cracking or creasing, and forms a lasting bond with virtually no edge bleed. Patco describes it as stable over long periods, suitable for indoor and outdoor use, and useful for sealing, splicing, seaming, surface protection, temporary hold down, bond breaking, material processing, and industrial fabricating.

The backing is low-density polyethylene. Total thickness is 5.5 mils; carrier thickness is 4.5 mils. Adhesion to a stainless steel test panel is 50 ounces per inch, longitudinal tensile strength is 11 pounds per inch, and elongation is 400%. Operating temperature is -40F to 190F; application temperature is 50F to 120F. The tape meets FDA CFR Title 21, Part 175, Subpart B, Sec.
