OTDR Launch Cable Box SCAPC SCAPC SM 2000m / 6561.7ft for 1310 1550nm Fiber Testing

Compact OTDR launch cable box designed for single-mode fiber testing at 1310 and 1550nm. The assembly features SCAPC SCAPC SM terminations and a 2000m / 6561.7ft length to provide a reliable launch fiber for OTDR measurements. Purpose-built to eliminate the OTDR blind zone, this launch cable has no joints along the fiber so reflections and splice events near the test port can be characterized accurately. It is used to measure loss and reflectivity of near-end connections and to insert a lossless length of fiber remotely when performing OTDR traces. A simple press-cover mechanism makes deployment and storage quick: press to open and pull out the cable for use, then press again to rewind and hide the fiber to keep the workspace neat. Lightweight and small in size, the unit is easy to carry for fieldwork. Suitable for use in cable television systems, telecommunications networks, computer fiber networks and with optical testing equipment.
