This hardware reset tool clears the waste ink pad counter on printers that use the Epson Maintenance Box C9345. The maintenance box collects excess ink ejected during cleaning and normal operation; when the printer detects the box is near capacity it will stop working until the box is replaced. You may see messages such as "Epson ink pad is at the end of its service life" or "parts inside the printer have reached the end of their service life" when this occurs. Operation is simple: remove the maintenance box, find the small chip on the box, place that chip onto the resetter and press down for a few seconds. The counter will then be reset to zero, restoring the printer to normal operation where compatible. This reset tool is designed for use with the Epson maintenance box C9345. Many Epson printer models use that box type; the product label lists several compatible printers but does not cover every possible model. Because there have been returns from customers whose printer model was not shown on the label despite using the C9345, we no longer accept returns for this item.
