Unbranded Multicolor Bird Houses Owl Box sku-18656966552
No rating yet(0 ratings)The Unbranded Multicolor Bird Houses owl box, sku-18656966552 (UPC 710456856273), measures 7.87" W x 8.27" D x 15.75" H and has a 3.15" entrance. Its design resembles the natural cavities used by Eastern Screech Owls, Northern Saw-whet Owls and Kestrels.
Made from 100% untreated solid wood, it avoids the cracking and glue fumes associated with plywood boxes and is intended to withstand outdoor weather while providing shelter for owlets. Drainage holes in the base limit water buildup, and side gaps provide ventilation. Install it 10-15 feet (3-4.5 meters) up in a tree, with the entrance facing south to help keep the interior dry and warm.
It comes with pre-drilled holes, instructions and wood shavings, since owls do not build nests like other birds. A front-door latch allows annual cleaning. The box has no exterior perches or grooves, making entry harder for predators. It can provide habitat for owls that prey on mice and snakes.
