Florida Foliage Red Nandina Annuals sku-8382953368

Florida Foliage Gulf Stream Nandina comes as 10 Plants, listed as Red Annuals under sku-8382953368 and UPC 305361823689. This compact evergreen shrub produces scarlet red new leaves in spring. The foliage matures to blue-green in summer, when small white flowers appear, then turns intense red as autumn temperatures cool. It typically grows to 3-3.5 high with a nearly equal spread of 3.

It can be planted near foundations, in mixed borders, as a hedge for firescaping or privacy, or in mass plantings. Grow it in average, well-drained soil with at least partial sun; full sun is preferred. Water deeply and regularly during the first growing season to establish its roots. Once established, it tolerates mild drought and long dry stretches.

The source describes it as highly resistant to fungi, viruses, and other diseases. Apply fertilizer before new growth begins in spring. Prune back 1/3 of the stems annually to encourage dense spring growth, and remove dead or broken limbs.
