Myard FG6 Black Fireplace Heating Grate sku-860559768

The Myard FG6 is a Black vertical fireplace grate in the Heating category. This model has 6 bars; the range also includes 5- and 7-bar models. All 3 models are described as fitting fireplaces with a floor depth of at least 16" and an opening height of at least 25". The 5-bar model fits a back width of 21" to 26", the 6-bar model fits 26" to 31", and the 7-bar model fits 31" to 36".

Its vertical design is intended to improve airflow and radiant heat, help a fire light quickly, reduce smoke and let added logs feed downward without blocking the air draft. The grate assembles by hand without tools and can be used in an indoor fireplace or outdoor fire pit. For a see-through fireplace or fire pit, place 2 sets opposite each other to form a U-shaped space for logs.

The grate is made of solid 5/8" square steel bars, with two feet and a partially hand-hammered finish. Because this is a one-sided grate, burning logs sit against the fireplace's rear wall; fire bricks or an iron fireback are recommended to shield it. Source feature points (1), (2), (3) and (4) concern airflow, lighting, smoke and self-feeding. SKU: sku-860559768. UPC: 601393756026.
