The self-adherent Safetac layer seals wound edges to limit leakage and the risk of maceration. It allows dressing changes without damaging the wound or surrounding skin or causing additional pain, and the dressing can be lifted and adjusted without losing adhesion. Sustained silver release provides antimicrobial properties. No secondary fixation is needed.
The dressing is shower-proof, may be used under compression bandages and may remain in place for several days depending on wound condition. It has a low potential for skin irritation or allergy.
