The Black Minn Kota Traxxis 55 is a 12V freshwater trolling motor with 55lb thrust and a 42" shaft. To stow it, pull up and forward without pressing a button or release lever.

A thumb release deploys it into any of ten positions. The tiller tilts up to 45° and extends up to 6", with a digital battery indicator on the head. Digital Maximizer adjusts power to the selected speed and provides up to 5 times longer run time on one battery charge. The Quick-Cam adjuster locks the chosen depth, while a collar above the mount sets steering tension and allows vertical stowing.

A push-to-test meter shows remaining battery life. The Power Prop fits 3-5/8" motor diameters and is intended to push through heavy vegetation; a prop pin, nut and washer are included. Minn Kota guarantees its composite shaft for life and says its lower unit runs cool and quietly. Maximum amp draw is 50, and the motor has a two-year warranty.

The separate 80-lb thrust, 24-volt Traxxis motors have a larger metal transom bracket with a fold-away clamp knob.
