Michelin 30479 Tires by Vehicle | sku-213806706 Cup 2

Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, model 30479, is a Black summer tire listed under Tires by Vehicle as sku-213806706 (UPC 086699304797). The listed tire is 235/40ZR19/XL (96Y), with (240) in the title. It is intended for experienced drivers on track days and is approved for open-road use.

Track Longevity Technology 2.0 is described as providing 40% more laps [2] and faster average lap times [1] than the compared tires. Multi-Compound Construction is intended to provide cornering grip, steering precision and wet grip; Michelin also describes consistent lap times [3].

Deep tread and water-clearing grooves aid wet grip, while continuous ribs are described as shortening braking distances and improving steering. Michelin developed the tire with the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupe Black Series, Porsche 918 Spyder and 911 GT3, and Ferrari 458 Speciale. Dekra Test Center conducted the cited tests for Michelin in May 2017 at the Charade circuit in France.

Lap-time testing used a Porsche 911 GT3 (997); lap endurance and consistency testing used a Porsche Carrera S. The tested dimensions were 235/35-19 and 305/30-19. Comparisons included Pirelli Trofeo R, Dunlop Sport Maxx Race, Yokohama Advan Neova AD08R and Toyo Proxes R888 R.

Michelin's standard limited warranty [4] covers defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the original usable tread or 6 years from purchase, whichever comes first.
