MCCANN'S IMPORTED Oatmeal & Grits sku-1211806551 Oats

MCCANN'S IMPORTED Quick & Easy Steel Cut Irish Oatmeal is listed under Oatmeal & Grits as SKU sku-1211806551, UPC 461211806551. The size is 24 Ounce (Pack of 12); each canister contains 24 oz. Imported from Ireland, the oats are 100% whole grain and made by removing the outer husk and cutting the kernel with steel discs, without steaming or rolling it like conventional oats.

They are a good source of fiber, including soluble fiber, and provide four grams of protein per serving. The package states that soluble fiber from oatmeal, as part of a diet low in saturated fat and cholesterol, may reduce the risk of heart disease; it gives 2 grams of beta-glucan soluble fiber per day as the relevant amount and says one serving supplies 1 gram.

The oats are described as ready in 5 minutes; the cooking directions also say to simmer on low heat for five to seven minutes or microwave for three minutes. The source mentions an International Exhibition award from the United States Centennial Commission, says the brand has been made for over 150 years and directs readers to www.mccanns.ie for product information and recipes.
