Item is the hard drive circuit board (PCB/logic board) ONLY — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that swapping the PCB will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verifying compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most drive circuit boards store unique configuration data in the ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be moved to the replacement board. If transplanting the chip is feasible, a local computer technician can typically perform the operation. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transferring the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
