The Mares Smart Air wrist dive computer, model 495124, receives tank-pressure data wirelessly from a paired transmitter mounted on a regulator's high-pressure port. It displays pressure, calculates gas consumption and shows time remaining before the reserve value. The transmitter has a coded RF connection and an LED pressure indicator. The computer has a two-button layout, a two-color strap and a backlit LCD display measuring 1.25" (31mm) diagonally. Its mineral lens is scratch resistant, and the display is readable in direct sunlight. It shows current and maximum depth, no-decompression time, ascent rate, bottom time, optional seconds, battery status and temperature. On the surface, the buttons provide access to nitrox settings and the logbook; underwater, alternate depth information appears in the top row independently of information in the bottom row. Audible alarms can be customized or turned off, and residual nitrogen can be reset. Air, nitrox and free-diving modes are available. Nitrox mode supports 3 gases from 21% to 99% O2. Other functions include pre-dive planning, a surface-interval countdown, dive-log recall and altitude adjustment up to 12,100' (3,700m). The computer uses the Mares-Wienke RGBM algorithm and displays depths to 492' (150m). It supports fresh or salt water, imperial or metric units, and firmware updates through Dive Link. Its memory holds more than 95 hours. The user-replaceable CR2450 lithium battery is rated for 100 to 150 dives. Out of the water, the computer works as a digital quartz wristwatch with a calendar, daily alarm, dual time and temperature display. The computer's pressure display reaches 4350 psi (300 bars). The tank module attaches to a 7/16" threaded high-pressure port, uses a user-replaceable CR123 battery and has a maximum pressure display of 0 to 5000 psi (0 to 350 bars). Its LED is green at 2600 psi (180 bar) or more, yellow at the 1/2-tank warning of 1450 psi (100 bar), and red at 725 psi (50 bar). At initial pressurization of 2600 psi (180 bar) or more, it blinks green 10 times. Green or yellow indications blink at 4-second intervals; at 725 psi (50 bar), the red LED blinks once every second.
