MagnaZone Anti-Scaling Device (ASD) is ideal for hard water conditioning in residential applications where salt, chemical, and resin-free treatment is desired. The anti-scaling device (ASD) is a proprietary designed bar that reduces and prevents scale buildup in plumbing, fixtures, and appliances. These systems include a 2-stage 20-inch Big Blue filtration unit, which removes sand, sediment, chlorine, tastes, and odors from the water. These systems are compact, require very little maintenance, are easy to install, and come with a wall mounting bracket and hardware. Product Description Hard water entering the anti-scaling device inlet flows across the catalyst element. The surface of the catalyst element consists of millions of bi-and trimetallic junctions similar in geometry to calcium carbonate (CaCO3), the dissolved mineral that makes hard water. Through a phenomenon called lattice matching, minerals attach to each other and form crystals. Minerals in solutions can also be made to attach to other surfaces with similar lattice patterns. Calcium carbonate collects onto these catalysts element junctions. These deposits form microscopic crystals that are less stable, but still attractive to the calcium carbonate in the solution. This process is called nucleation and is familiar to those scientists who work in the areas of semiconductors, physical chemistry and metallurgy. These crystals grow to a size believed to be between .0000004-inch and .000004-inch, which is too small to be seen with an optical microscope, before they are flushed off the catalyst surface due to combination of crystal instability and the shearing force of the flowing water. Billions of these calcium carbonate crystals or calcite -inchseeds-inch are now in the treated water exciting the anti-scaling device.
