It saw action in the Gulf War, the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq. During the Gulf War, F-16 pilots achieved air-to-air kills against Iraqi fighters, and the aircraft struck infrastructure and military installations. In Operation Allied Force in the Balkans, it flew air-to-ground missions against Serbian infrastructure and provided air cover for ground troops. In Afghanistan and Iraq, it was used mainly for ground attack, including close air support and strikes with precision-guided munitions.
