Lehman's Woodsman's Axe LEHMANLASEREDDIRIGO sku-1865114043
No rating yet(0 ratings)Lehman's Woodsman's Belt Axe, model LEHMANLASEREDDIRIGO, is a Multicolor, One Size item in Hand Tools. It is listed as sku-1865114043, UPC 810065673831. Compact enough for campsite use and smaller wood-cutting jobs, it has a head made of 1050 carbon steel from New York, hardened to Rockwell 56.
That hardness helps the edge hold up while remaining easy to sharpen and resistant to chipping; the stated range for most axes is Rockwell 52 to Rockwell 55. Its 17" smooth hickory handle is made by an Amish family near the store. The source describes hickory as stronger than the ash or maple used by other axe makers.
A USA cowhide leather head cover protects the sharp edge when stored near other steel tools. Take care when putting the cover on or removing it.
