The Lectrotab XKA9X12A Boating kit contains 2 aluminum alloy trim tabs, 2 actuators with cables and an instruction manual; it is sold as an individual kit. Its 9" x 12" tabs (23 x 30 cm) are specified for boats 16' to 25' long (5 to 7.5 M). The tabs use marine-grade 6005-T5 aluminum alloy, a corrosion-resistant epoxy coating and a polypropylene hinge.

The hinge is described as equivalent in strength to 10-gauge stainless steel and was tested for more than 300,000 cycles at a 90° bend without failure. The non-hydraulic, self-contained actuators have sealed non-metallic housings, so no components go inside the boat and there is no hydraulic oil to leak.

They have pressure equalization, an internal brake to resist unwanted tab movement, and a choice of standard or low-profile transom bracket. Each actuator is load-tested to push 1000 lbs of force.
