Compact, all-digital double-DIN receiver with Alexa built in. The JVC KW-X855BTS features a short chassis for simpler installation without cutting or major dash modifications and replaces older head units to add Bluetooth, Alexa and modern digital media playback. Audio output is 50-watt maximum x 4 channels, and there are 3 pairs of 4-volt preamp outputs for speaker and subwoofer hookup — the higher voltage helps lower transmission noise and distortion when used with an external amplifier. Visuals and lighting include a 2-line VA LCD display, 2-zone variable-color illumination and a music sync effect; the text-display is compatible with Spanish and French. For hands-free operation the unit supports Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free calling, and 2 phones can be connected full time so you can keep your focus on the road. Alexa functionality: say the voice trigger “Hey Alexa” then speak commands such as “Check the weather” or “Tell me a joke.” You can control Alexa-enabled home devices or use Alexa music services while driving. The receiver is compatible with Amazon Alexa via the JVC app, and the JVC Remote app lets a smartphone control certain audio functions of the head unit. Connections and playback: front and rear USB ports, AUX input for non-Bluetooth devices, and wide-format audio playback including MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, and FLAC. The USB port also provides 1.5-amp high-current charging. Tuner features include AM/FM with 18 FM/6 AM presets; the unit is SiriusXM ready (tuner and subscription sold separately).
