Florida Foliage Bar Harbor juniper (Juniperus horizontalis) is a spreading evergreen ground cover sold as 50 Plants. Its blue-gray summer foliage turns Purple in winter, particularly in windy locations. Young leaves have sharp points in pairs or threes; mature leaves are flatter and more scale-like. The plant usually stays within 4-6 inches of the ground.

It grows in full sun to partial shade and well-drained soil, with a preference for drier, sandy soil. It tolerates heat, relatively dry conditions, poorer soils, salt spray and urban air pollution, but not standing water. Water regularly while roots establish, then occasionally, with regular watering during drought. Pruning the edges once or twice a year can help keep the middle full.
