William D Geoghegan Jung's Psychology sku-844283977

Jung's Psychology as a Spiritual Practice and Way of Life is a paperback dialogue in the Religion & Religious Studies Books category. It presents Carl Gustav Jung as a wisdom teacher in 3 areas: (1) his place in the post-modern West through Friedrich Nietzsche's Thus Spake Zarathustra, theologian Paul Tillich and Zen master Karlfried Graf Dürckheim; (2) his spiritual kinship with Lao-tze and The Tao Te Ching; and (3) the prospects for his psychology in mind/body medicine, especially neuroscience, and in dialogue with quantum speculation.

The authors argue that Jung's psychology is a dynamic "religious philosophical system" and a way of life, rather than primarily conventional psychotherapy. The dialogue format draws on Jung's "confrontation" with the Unconscious and his affinity with the Socratic and Platonic practice of "living the questions." Listed brand: William D Geoghegan.
