Compact, multifunction pond filtration system combining mechanical, biological and UV treatment to maintain clear, healthy water. Water is first drawn into the unit and forced through two specially designed foam sponges that capture debris of all sizes (mechanical filtration). It then flows through bio-rocks which provide surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonize; these bacteria biologically convert harmful ammonia and other wastes into nitrates that support aquatic plants and a balanced pond ecosystem. In the final stage the water is exposed to a low-voltage UV-C lamp that destroys algae as the water returns to the pond. Physical details: Unit size: 16" x 11"(w) x 6"(h).
