It is made of performance fabric with 4-way stretch and a plush interior; the listing says it retains its appearance after multiple washes.

The design draws on Team USA's red, white and blue jerseys and is licensed by USA Hockey and the represented players, including Jack O'Callahan, Dave Christian and Mark Pavelich through the Ranch charity in his memory. The Miracle on Ice was the February 22, 1980, medal-round game at the Lake Placid Winter Olympics.

The mostly amateur U.S. team, coached by Herb Brooks, beat the heavily favored Soviet team 4–3. The Soviet Union had won five of the six previous Winter Olympic gold medals and was defending its fourth consecutive title. The U.S. team was the youngest in the tournament and in national team history; four players had limited minor-league experience.

Both teams were unbeaten in group play, during which the U.S. drew 2–2 with Sweden and recorded a 7–3 win that the source listing also attributes to Sweden. Against the Soviets, the first period ended 2–2; the U.S. trailed 3–2 after the second, then scored twice in the third. Two days later, the U.S. beat Finland for gold, while the Soviet Union took silver.

Al Michaels called the game's final seconds for ABC, asking, "Do you believe in miracles? YES!" In 1999, Sports Illustrated named it the top sports moment of the 20th century.
