Its drop-forged high-carbon-steel cutter, all-steel construction, long handles and rubber grips are designed for two-handed cutting with less effort and long tool life. It cuts steel strapping up to 2 inch wide and 0.05 inch thick and weighs 7.0 pounds.
Its compact design allows it to be carried on a belt for work away from a packing station. IDL Packaging also offers cutters for strapping widths from 3/8 inch to 2 inches and thicknesses up to 0.05 inch, including steel-strapping models H-410 and H-305. The company says it selects and tests the packaging products it sells and uses them to pack its own orders.
