ICP DAS TGW-725 Modbus TCP↔RTU Gateway — PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 1), 2x RS-485, 10/100 Ethernet
Cost-effective Modbus gateway that links Modbus/TCP hosts to serial Modbus RTU/ASCII equipment. The module supports both Modbus/TCP master and slave roles and also functions as a Modbus RTU/ASCII master and slave. Its 32-bit MCU is optimized to manage network traffic efficiently while keeping power draw low. Use cases include pair-connection, serial-bridge or serial-tunnel setups to route serial Modbus RTU/ASCII data over TCP/IP between two serial devices, removing the cable-length limits of traditional serial links — ideal for connecting mainframes, servers, or other serial-only Modbus equipment. Network and power: single 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port (RJ-45 x 1) with auto-negotiation, auto MDI/MDIX and LED indicators; supports TCP, UDP, HTTP, DHCP, BOOTP and TFTP protocols and includes a UDP responder for device discovery. Power options are redundant: true IEEE 802.3af-compliant PoE (Class 1) via standard Cat5 cable (compatible with PoE switches such as the NS-205PSE) or an external DC adapter through the DC jack. Serial interfaces and control: two RS-485 ports with automatic direction control and flexible wiring via male DB-9 or terminal block connector. Management and maintenance: built-in tiny web server for configuration and the ability to update firmware over Ethernet. Mechanical and environmental: compact, low-power form factor made from fire-retardant materials (UL94-V0 level), RoHS compliant and halogen-free. The tGW-700 module is engineered for ultra-low power consumption to reduce operating costs and support greener deployments.
