The rivets are produced with added adhesive, giving them a gelatinous surface finish that aids sealing and retention. Specification note: the tri-fold construction differs from standard rivets — the rivet length must be 13mm longer than the thickness of the material being joined. Each rivet features "legs" that spread load over a bigger contact area, improving surface load distribution on irregular or oversized holes. A washer is included to seal gaps and increase resistance to pull-through.
