Harold C Deutsch: Hitler and His Generals | sku-994109437
No rating yet(0 ratings)Harold C Deutsch's Military History Books title Hitler and His Generals, sku-994109437, was first published in 1974. This paperback, subtitled The Hidden Crisis, January-June 1938, is available as an unaltered Minnesota Archive Edition of the original University of Minnesota Press book. Deutsch examines Hitler's effort to gain control over the Wehrmacht in early 1938.
He describes how Hitler forced War Minister Werner von Blomberg to resign over his marriage, then used charges of homosexuality concocted by Himmler, Heydrich and Goering to force the resignation of Army commander in chief Baron von Fritsch. Hitler appointed Walther von Brauchitsch in his place.
Deutsch argues that these moves left conspiracy as the active Opposition's means of resisting Hitler's policies. His earlier book, The Conspiracy against Hitler in the Twilight War, covered another round of conspiracy; the source says he planned a later book on the first round.
