This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large quantity of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data-recovery use. Many Hitachi 2.5" SATA boards store critical, unique information in a ROM (memory) chip; that ROM data must be transferred or reprogrammed for the drive to function correctly. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; alternatively, the ROM can be reprogrammed onto the replacement board.
