This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print (sku-13223623589; UPC 466087306372) is listed in Black, size L. The source title identifies a historic image of the Y.M.C.A., fire and police headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee, at 16 x 20 inches. Snapshots of the Past makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, the company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

The source also notes that lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass-produced prints, was invented in 1796. A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks, which the source describes as suitable for long-term display and passing down. The source also suggests historical posters, including holiday designs and early aerial city views, as decorations or gifts.
