Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L sku-13269513638 Print

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print reproduces a head-and-shoulders portrait of Woodrow Wilson, then a professor at Princeton, facing left. The Black, size L print measures 16" x 20". The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives and uses archival paper and pigmented inks for its reproductions.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796, enabling inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections focused on American cultural history. The company's other prints include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

The prints can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts. UPC: 466300976993. SKU: sku-13269513638.
