The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.
Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of prints, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.
Snapshots of the Past uses archival paper and pigmented inks for its reproduction prints. Its range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of cities such as Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
