The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, a technique that enabled inexpensive mass production of prints, was invented in 1796. A 1989 Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to help the prints last for generations. The company's range also includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The prints can be displayed at home or at work or given as gifts.
