Lithography was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, and the National Digital Library Program began in 1995 to digitize selected collections on American cultural history. The company's range includes old holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, intended for display at home or work or as gifts.
