The company makes reproductions from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, a printing method that enabled inexpensive mass-produced prints, was invented in 1796.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural heritage. The company's range also includes historical maps, photos and posters, such as holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, for display or gifts.
