Titled "Washington's smallest diplomatic hostess," it depicts a Washington, D.C., subject dated Sept. 21 and measures 16" x 20". The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it describes itself as the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers and tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress launched the American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural history. The company's range also includes vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of major U.S. cities, offered as decor or gifts.
