The company reproduces historical maps, photographs, and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using fine-art and archival paper and pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796, enabling inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress launched the American Memory pilot project in 1989; the National Digital Library Program began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural history. The company's other reproductions include old Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco.

The prints are offered for display at home or work and as gifts.
