Snapshots of the Past Spokane Wall Art L sku-13343555565

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is a 16" x 20" reproduction of a 1905 Spokane, Washington, map. SKU: sku-13343555565. UPC: 462628728382. The company restores historical maps, photographs and prints from the Library of Congress archives, producing reproductions on fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive, mass-produced prints possible.

In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995 to digitize selected collections documenting American cultural heritage. The company's reproductions also include vintage holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.
