Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-13252973694

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, is a 16" x 20" historic print titled "W. B. Corkey Co. Going home 5:30 P.M. Lots of boys here. Girls go out at other entrance," set in Hammond, Indiana. The company's reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints are restored from Library of Congress archives and made with archival paper and pigmented inks for long-term display.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography was invented in 1796 and allowed inexpensive mass production of prints. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections emphasizing American cultural heritage.

The company's other prints include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. These retro-style posters can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts. UPC: 468095840695. SKU: sku-13252973694.
