Snapshots of the Past sku-13282906067 is a Black, size L Wall Art reproduction of a head-and-shoulders portrait of Vinnie Ream Hoxie (1847-1914), shown in an oval just after her return from abroad. The print measures 16" x 20"; UPC 463768798839. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives on fine-art and archival paper.

It was founded in 2001 and says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural heritage. The company uses archival paper and pigmented inks, intended to last for generations.

Its other prints include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. The retro-style posters are offered for homes, studies and workplaces, including as gifts.
