Snapshots of the Past L Wall Art Print sku-13268469009

Snapshots of the Past offers this Black, size L Wall Art reproduction of a Vernon Howe Bailey print dated [5/15/24]. It measures 16 x 20 inches. The company restores historical images from the Library of Congress archives and prints reproductions on archival paper with pigmented inks.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers; it was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history. The company's range includes historical maps, photographs, holiday posters and early aerial city views for home or workplace display and gifting.
